Thursday’s Travels

I’ll start the day by gathering the blueberries,

I ordered with excitement,

Freezing some and eating many,

Blue lips will serve as indictment.

Next I’ll travel a few miles south,

To help a friend whose husband’s in hospital,

I’ll feed and play with their beloved cat.

Hoping he’ll only nip me a little.

Then on to pick up a gift I have bought,

Hand-thrown pottery made for a shelf,

I’ll be doing well to give it up,

I really would like it for myself.

“Adopt the pace if nature. Her secret is patience.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

On a more serious note today: A venture into Haiku

Only God could paint,

Such power and light as this.

Who can even name,

The colors He has chosen.
